what is showrunners?
Showrunners is a program that teaches and encourages professional production of quality entertainment for PLU students, by PLU students. Our goal is to give students the opportunity to explore their passions for creating television and film, on and off screen, through their own initiative, regardless of academic path.

Leadership team
Megan Longstaff
Director and Executive Producer Megan is a senior applied physics major and computer science minor who also has a passion for film. She acted in the first two seasons of Showrunners and Mutual Friends was her directorial debut. Megan also is the director for PLU's on-campus comedy show, Late Knight. She knows The Social Circle will be a bittersweet production to work on since it is her final year at PLU, but it will be exciting to apply all she has learned in her first three years. |
Barbara Millward
Producer and Head Writer Barbara is a junior psychology major with a minor in chemistry. Barbara has a passion for writing and has been published twice within the Harriman Journal. She is a public relations officer and competitor for the PLU Debate Team. She intends to pursue a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology. This is Mutual Friends venture into screenwriting, but not her last. |
Eric Zayas
Producer and Head Writer Eric graduated from Pacific Lutheran University as a communication major with a minor in writing. He has worked for PLU's newspaper, The Mast, as a feature editor. He currently contributes to PLU's variety show, Late Knight, as both a producer. Eric also works for PLU's MediaLab as a communication associate, where he provides video production needs. |
Kate Wilson
Associate Producer Kate graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in May 2018 with a BFA in Technical Theatre and Design and a minor in Creative Fiction Writing. They most recently served as Head Writer for the Showrunners Season 3 serial Mutual Friends and has had two original one-act plays produced, one at Pacific Lutheran University and another at Enumclaw High School. They have also been published in The Matrix ABC's of PLU for the letter Y for Parkland Youth, the 43rd edition of PLU's literary and art magazine Saxifrage for their short story "Swimming in Triangles," and presented research at the 2017 Northwest Undergraduate Conference in the Humanities. |
